BIKE TO WORK DAY
On Thursday, May 16th, the Bay Area will celebrate Bike to Work Day! Volunteers will pass out free, commemorative bike bags in the early morning commute hours at the Suisun Amtrak station, Vallejo Ferry building, Benicia Bike path, Solano Community College and Fairfield-Vacaville Amtrak to bike commuters. Fisk’s Cyclery in Dixon, Ray’s Cycle in Vacaville, Rockville Bike Shop in Fairfield, Travis AFB Library/Outdoor Recreation, Wheels in Motion in Benicia, and the Solano Transportation Authority in Suisun City will also have bags available. Bike commuters can visit any of the Solano County Energizer Stations to pick up their bike bag with goodies (while supplies last). Stop by our energizer stations to learn more about Bucks for Bikes and our other commuter incentive programs: Solano Mobility | Commuter Programs.
(Note: National Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 17th, but the Bay Area celebrates on Thursday when more people in our nine counties commute to work.)

BIKE CHAMPION OF THE YEAR
Every year, each of the nine Bay Area Counties selects their own Bike Champion of the Year. These champions are recognized for their dedication to promoting bicycling as a primary mode of transportation and for their ability to inspire others in their local communities.
Do you know an incredible cyclist, policymaker, educator, or advocate in your community? Lift them up! Each year, we rely on YOU to help identify who is making your county a better place to be and to bike. Winners will receive prizes and recognition Bay Area-wide!
Nomination forms for the 2024 Bike Champions of the Year will be live March 1st-29th, 2024. We’ll announce the winners at the end of April, just in time to be celebrated for Bike to Wherever Days, running for the whole month of May.
